Investing in denim pieces – FARFETCH
Zipped Blue Levis jeans – Off White
Distressed denim Jacket – MM6 Maison Margiela / Similar here
White t-shirt – Off White
Block heel Booties –Yeezy
Sunnies –Vintage Frames
Finding the perfect denim piece seems a little easier than it actually is. I honestly used to have so much denim in my wardrobe but over time realized there is good denim and bad denim… In other words, over time, I have learnt that some jeans look better than others and some denim jackets feel way better than the rest. I could say that this outfit I got via Farfetch exemplifies the idea of investing in a good denim piece.
How do I know what denim to invest on? Here are four elements I always take in consideration when investing in a good denim piece:
- Classic blue color: The shade is so important for me. I usually make sure the denim shade looks natural and classic, nothing overdyed or with a shade that would be hard to pair. I fell in love with the true- blue shade of these Levis jeans from OFF-WHITE.
- Softness and quality of the denim: this is so important. Sometimes an outfit can look cool and all, but hey it has to be comfortable. After I tried this Maison Margiela MM6 denim jacket I think I wanted to get rid of all my countless of vintage jackets because this one feels so much softer and wearable. I always make sure the fabric is soft yet durable after the washes so you can over wear the pieces and make your investment worth it!
- Original details that would last for a lifetime: I love finding original denim pieces like the ones I’m wearing in this post. The detailing of the jeans with the oversized zip, or the distressed areas of the jacket won my heart over.
- The right fit : I always make sure what look I’m going for before getting a new denim piece. I love finding the perfect oversized fit, which can’t be too big or too small.
Anyways, I went for Canadian tux style for this look but adding my own edge. Wore it with some black Yeezy block booties that I’ve been wanting for such a long time because of its unique silhouette. They’re more comfortable than most pointed block boots I’ve previously owned (and even qualify for those full days of errands walking in the city), so I’m very happy I got them! These would last me for a lifetime.
Hope you guys enjoyed the post, let me know which was your favorite piece in the comments!
